U21 preview | Wolves vs Sunderland

Wolves under-21s return to Premier League 2 action for the first time in over three weeks on Monday evening.

Sunderland are the visitors to Aggborough as James Collins’ side play the first of their final three fixtures of the regular season.

The Old Gold have enjoyed an impressive campaign so far and currently sit fifth in the PL2 table, just a point off Arsenal in fourth.

In the newly introduced format, the top 16 teams qualify for the end of season play-offs to compete for the overall title, while the top 12 ensure International Cup football in 2024/25.

Wolves are yet to be defeated in PL2 in 2024 and won back-to-back away games at Derby County and Everton just before the break.

Meanwhile, visitors Sunderland are also on track for a play-off place having accumulated 25 points from their 16 games.

The Black Cats sit five points behind Wolves in 11th and were 4-2 winners over Leicester City in their last outing on 22ndMarch.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking here and supporters are encouraged to do so, but entrance will be permitted on the day. Wolves season ticket holders are also entitled to free entry with their card on the turnstiles.
