Wolves under-21s host Manchester City at Compton Park on Sunday afternoon as PL2 returns following the international break.
Please note, due to Premier League broadcasting restrictions, Sunday afternoon’s Premier League 2 Division 1 fixture with Manchester City will not be live streamed.
James Collins’ side haven’t tasted league action since the 1-1 draw at Arsenal on 17th September, however a 2-1 victory against Stockport County three days later secured progression from Group C in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Goals from Lee Harkin and Tyler Roberts put the old gold into a commanding position at Edgeley Park and despite a late Connor Jennings goal, Wolves were able to progress into the knockout stages following a mature display.
Joe Hodge, Nathan Fraser, and Dylan Scicluna were all missing from the squad that evening as the trio joined up with their national teams ahead of the international break.
The 21s have collected eight points from their first six games in PL2 this season and are six points behind Sunday’s visitors Man City who sit third on 14 – only trailing leaders Crystal Palace and second-placed Arsenal on goals scored.
City have made an unbeaten start to 2022/23, winning four and drawing two of their opening six games.
Sunday’s game kickstarts an October schedule that includes six fixtures across two competitions for Collins’ youngsters.
