Cardiff City are the visitors to the New Bucks Head on Friday afternoon, as Wolves under-21s look to top their Premier League Cup group.
The old gold have already qualified for the knockout stages, but a draw or victory will confirm first place and a home tie in the next round.
However, the Bluebirds are still fighting to remain in the competition themselves and require a point if they’re to progress.
Wolves have won four of their five PL Cup fixtures this season, losing the one solitary game at Reading just before the Christmas break.
James Collins’ side began 2023 with a 4-1 thrashing of Sunderland, but have since lost three on the spin in all competitions, so will be keen to round off the group stage with a win.
Cardiff are currently tied on nine points with Reading, but it’s the Royals who sit in second on goal difference having played all six of their games.
In the reverse fixture at the start of December, Wolves took the points with a 1-0 victory – a game which saw youngster Fraser Harper score the winning goal after combining with Fabian Reynolds.
