The pre-season schedule has taken the academy to Slovakia, where three age groups will ramp up their preparations ahead of the 2023/24 season.
James Collins’ under-21s have endured an action-packed opening 24 hours in Bratislava. Having played their first behind-closed-doors friendly at Compton Park on Tuesday afternoon, a 1-0 defeat to League Two Stockport County, the youngsters have again been put through their paces.
Following a relaxed bike ride to get the legs moving shortly after landing on Wednesday evening, day one on Thursday involved plenty of hard work on the training pitch, before the players hit the gym and the swimming pool.
