Wolves Academy loanee Dion Sanderson was voted Sunderland AFC Supporters’ Young Player of the Year for his efforts during the 2020/21 campaign.
The 21-year-old attracted plaudits during his 28 appearances, where he helped the Black Cats into the League One Play-Offs, which he was denied competing in due to injury.
While at the Stadium of Light, Sanderson bagged his first goal in professional football, opening the scoring in a 2-0 win over Rochdale in March.

The temporary spell at Sunderland was Sanderson’s second successful loan move, after experiencing the Championship with Cardiff City the season previous.
