Voice ends Wolves journey with permanent move

Wolves Academy product Caden Voice has joined League One side Cardiff City in a permanent move.

The central defender has progressed fully through the club’s youth set up, joining the pre-academy phase at the age of five and signing schoolboy terms four years later at nine.

The 19-year-old made the full transition from under-18s to under-21s last season, playing regularly for James Collins’ group, and he’s turned out 13 times this year across all competitions.

During his journey with the Old Gold, Voice represented England at under-18 level, and now moves on to Cardiff, who currently sit top of the League One table.

Academy director Jon Hunter-Barrett said: “This opportunity has presented itself to Caden and it feels the right time for him to move on to pastures new. We’re incredibly proud of his journey and everything he’s achieved along the way, coming right the way through the academy, which he and his family should also be proud of.

“It’s the journey every player would want – progressing all the way to a professional contract, and that’s gained him interest now, and given him an opportunity to progress.

“He’s been here his whole life and has always had a good attitude and done things properly, and he’s now turning into a man. This is a good news story all round, so we’ll be watching his journey closely, seeing how he progresses and wishing him well.”
