Wolves under-21s play their final fixture of 2022 away to Reading in the Premier League Cup on Monday afternoon.
The old gold currently top Group H of the competition, with nine points from nine following victories in all three fixtures so far.
Owen Farmer and Lee Harkin were on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture at Aggborough, as Wolves claimed a 2-1 win over the Royals in November.
With Sunderland away abandoned after 25 minutes and Cardiff City at home postponed last week, James Collins’ side will be hoping for better luck at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Reading have one PL Cup fixture remaining and require the points if they’re to have any chance of progressing, with two wins and three defeats so far leaving their campaign on a knife edge.
In terms of league form, Reading are currently placed fifth in Group B of the Professional Development League, having accumulated 22 points from 13 matches.
Three points for Wolves on Monday would secure progression to the knockout stages of the PL Cup, a competition the old gold were runners-up in last season.
