International | Chiwome lands England call-up

1 min read

Wolves’ Leon Chiwome has been selected to represent England under-17s at the upcoming UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifying round in Georgia.

The striker is part of a 21-man squad set to face Lithuania, Georgia and Israel in a four-team group, with the aim of progressing to the elite round of qualifying.

Chiwome has settled well into life with the old gold, having made the summer switch from AFC Wimbledon.

With two goals to his name for the under-18s, Chiwome has since go on to make his PL2 debut, coming on for the under-21s at Liverpool earlier this month.

He started last Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy game at Port Vale, and will now be hoping to help guide his country to the UEFA EURO Finals in Hungary next summer by advancing through this initial stage of qualifying.

Chiwome will link up with Ryan Garry’s Three Lions for their three qualifying ties, starting tomorrow against Lithuania.
