Wolves under-18s’ 2022/23 fixture schedule set

3 min read

Wolves under-18s will begin their 2022/23 U18 Premier League North campaign away at Blackburn Rovers after the fixture schedule was confirmed for the upcoming season.

Steve Davis’ side will head to Blackburn’s academy ground on Saturday 13th August before facing Stoke City at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground two weeks later.

With Burnley, Birmingham City and Reading no longer competing in U18PL, it leaves the divisions with 13 teams in the north and 12 in the south, meaning the under-18s will have free weekends this season due to an odd number of teams in their league.

Unlike the Premier League and Premier League 2, the under-18s will not be taking a break for the 2022 World Cup, meaning fixtures will continue throughout November and December, with Wolves facing Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Manchester City and Sunderland during this period.

Following a short Christmas stoppage, matches get back underway in 2023 on Saturday 7th January, with Wolves heading to Forest to kick off the new year. The league season will come to a close for the youth side away at Middlesbrough on Saturday 29th April.

Alongside their U18 PL North campaign, Davis’ young team will also compete in the FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League Cup this season.
