2 min read

Wolves will host a special event for goalkeepers at Compton Park in January and all budding stoppers from the local area are invited.

On Friday 7th January, the club’s training ground will hold the special event, aimed at goalkeepers in school years six and seven or boys age groups under-11 and under-12, who live within an hour (under-11s) or an hour and 45 minutes (under-12s) of Compton Park.

The event will be coached by the Wolves Academy goalkeeping coaches and PDP goalkeepers and will give those attending a unique opportunity to train like their heroes do within the category one academy facilities of Compton.

Furthermore, the night is also open to any budding outfielders who wish to try their hands at being a goalkeeper. If you’re an outfielder who would like to sign up to attend, please don’t forget your gloves.

The session will be an hour-long per age group, working on multiple parts of goalkeeping, such as handling, shot stopping, high balls and possession.

All those who would like to sign up, please note, you must live within one hour and 45 minutes of Compton Park, Wolverhampton, WV3 9BF. If the above is of interest to you then please email academyadmin@wolves.co.uk.

The closing date for sign up is 23rd December 2021. Wolves will contact you with confirmation, age group time and any other updates, including Covid protocols no later than Monday 3rd January 2022.

Please note, the U7/U8/U9 goalkeeper events are coming soon.
