Wolves under-23s can book their place in the Premier League Cup final on Wednesday night as they face Middlesbrough at Molineux, with season ticket holders getting free entry to the semi-final clash.
Having finished their league season as runners-up, but with a chance of promotion via the play-offs, James Collins’ side turn their attention to cup action this evening and face Boro under the Molineux lights.
Wolves have been on a great run in this seasons PL Cup, finishing second in their group behind PL2 Division 1 highfliers West Ham United, despite ending the group stage campaign with a win and a draw against the Hammers.
The under-23s also faced Swansea City and Exeter City in the first round before progressing to the last 16 and a visit to Wigan Athletic, where a 1-0 victory earned their place in the quarter-finals against Peterborough United, which ended in the same scoreline. Both games were decided by a single Chem Campbell goal, setting up this evening’s semi-final against Middlesbrough.
If the development side needed added incentive to reach the final, the match will be against Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion, after the side from across the divide secured a 2-1 win over PL2 Division 2 champions Fulham at The Hawthorns on Tuesday evening.
The visitors reached this stage of the competition after getting past a group round consisting of Blackburn Rovers, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers, before knocking out Arsenal in the last 16 and Stoke City in the quarter-finals.
Wolves will be in confident mood ahead of their third Molineux match in four matches, following a 3-0 league win over Middlesbrough on the road three weeks ago.
Season ticket holders and members can get free entry into Molineux for tonight’s match but must claim their ticket in advance. For non-season ticket holders, tickets cost £4 for adults, £2 for over-65s and under-21s, while under-17s can gain free entry.

Parking will also be available for spectators on a first come/first served basis in the Stan Cullis and Waterloo Road car parks.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
Heading back to Molineux this evening, head coach James Collins is hoping the Wolves supporters turn out in force as his side aim for a cup and promotion double to end their season.
“Its brilliant for the players and brilliant for us,” Collins said. “There’s a buzz around the boys, knowing we had Molineux, Carrow Road, Molineux, Molineux – it’s really exciting for us. Then when you’re under the lights in the second-half, the crowd are making a noise, and it’s exciting.
“We want more of it and more of that exposure for our players as possible, because that’s what they’re going in to if they become professional footballers. The more we can get down here the better.
“I thought the crowd [at Molineux] have been brilliant. That effects players and I thought the crowd really helped us, so the more we can get here, the better.”
